- New Jersey; New York WASHINGTON, Aug. 25, 2023 – The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is issuing a public health alert for fresh, fully cooked, ready-to-eat (RTE) ShopRite brand chicken noodle soup products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens. The product labeled as chicken noodle soup may actually contain Italian-style wedding soup, which contains milk, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label. FSIS is issuing this public health alert to ensure that consumers are aware that these products should not be consumed. A recall was not requested because the products are no longer available for purchase. The product subject to the public health alert bears the establishment number “EST. P-18468” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in New Jersey and New York.
